Pamela Allen has written and illustrated more than 30 picture books for children. Her books have won numerous awards, including the Gaelyn Gordon Award in 2001 for Who Sank the Boat? Pamela was awarded the Margaret Mahy Medal in 2004, and in 2005 she became a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her work in children’s literature.
Pamela’s books are continually listed as Storylines Notable Books and have been translated around the world in languages including French, Swedish and Japanese. Her most recent books include Is Your Grandmother a Goanna?, Our Daft Dog Danny, and The Toymaker and the Bird.
Nā Wai Te Waka I Totohū is part of the translation series of classic storybooks that HUIA are producing.
