James Ritchie

Professor James Ritchie (Tainui) was a prominent psychologist and child-rearing expert who argued that physical discipline was damaging to children and society. James held a strong influential place in both Māori and Pakeha cultures and was an important advisor and friend to many Tainui leaders. James's book Becoming Bicultural is currently out of print.
