Rāhui Katene was the Māori Party Member of Parliament for Te Tai Tonga 2008–2011. She is a lawyer, and prior to entering parliament, she was managing solicitor at Te Ratonga Ture Māori Legal Services, a Treaty of Waitangi claims consultant and claims manager for the Crown Forestry Rental Trust.
