The Autuhi resources provide tauira Māori with a learning experience that is tailor-made for them. Autuhi includes an online platform and multiple print, visual and audio components exclusively in te reo Māori. The website was built with the intention of creating flexible sandpit arena’s for students to practise on depending on their interest in creative writing.

Online platform:
Customer built website architecture. Five open-ended pathways – character, setting, plot, prop and reflection – each with their own videos, questions and interactive activities to explore.
Creative writing box set:
- 500 creative writing cards – character, setting, plot, prop and activity cards
- 100 language cards
- 20 visual aid posters
HUIA believes that representation is important and wanted to ensure that tauira could see themselves in these resources. The HUIA team collaborated with illustrators to ensure illustrations were representative of multiple realities for Māori in both urban and rural communities.
The HUIA design team worked closely with digital developers and printers to ensure branding was consistent across all print and digital resources included in the Autuhi suite.
