Dr Whatarangi Winiata (Ngāti Raukawa) is Te Ahorangi o Ngā Purutanga Mauri at Te Wānanga o Raukawa in mŌtaki and was the founder of this wānanga, which was Aotearoa New Zealand’s first contemporary wānanga.
